Jillaine Wheeler The Pantry PractitionerJillaine Wheeler is the owner and director of The Pantry Practitioner. She has recognised a need to challenge popular beliefs in this country as to what constitutes a nourishing diet, and is seeking to re-educate us in planning, sourcing and preparing truly delicious, nourishing and traditional foods. With an evidence-based approach to analysis and prescription of personalised programs you not only discover that food should taste divine but it should alleviate and avert disease.
My Body of Work Approach and philosophyThe aim of my work is to deliver a personalised and specific diet plan and/ or foods which address diagnosed deficiencies, intolerances and pathology- to work in a cooperative manner with biomedical doctors to restore homeostasis or balance where deficiencies are part of the underlying cause.
Nutritional Medicine The power to heal, restore and calmIn my observations real foods and super foods are synergistic - that is they are more complex by nature than isolated nutrients and for this reason give the best results long term. I also firmly believe that a well established and complex biome (good bugs and yeasts) goes a long way to not only nourishing us but to protecting us from an ever increasing toxin- ladened environment. Although I believe that a good quality homemade diet should ultimately supply most of what we need- I also agree with other biomed practitioners that some ground work needs to be done to address deficiencies to enable the diet to succeed. Mission StatementOur mission is to positively impact individuals and community by delivering improved quality of life through food as medicine. To reconcile the practical demands of modern life with the need for traditional food wisdom. Working with children on the autistic spectrumJillaine is part of the support team at W.I.N Health Coach Clinics – working closely with Biomedical Medical Practitioner Dr Frank Golik. As a Nutritionist she operates a mobile consultancy supporting people with their diet-related health endeavors in their own home kitchens. Having encountered increasing numbers of families affected by autistic spectrum disorders Jillaine sought to find dietary cause, effects and remedies to this rapidly expanding problem. Attending the MINDD foundation seminar in Sydney provided critical insights and focus for Jillaine. She is delighted to be part of a team in this valuable role, offering dietary and practical support and solutions. |
